For the first time in three years, residents were able to come together to pray the Плащаниця Service on Good Friday. This sacred gathering allowed us to unite our sufferings to the suffering of Jesus. Through sung prayer Jesus’ body was honoured. Residents, families and volunteers lead the procession where Jesus was laid in the tomb. Thank you to all who participated in helping this sacred time happen at Holy Family. It was a moving experience as everyone had the opportunity to venerate the Плащаниця with honour and thanksgiving to Jesus, the One who loves us deeply and gave his [...]

A Reminder of the Past – Donated to Holy Family Home

2022-03-04T10:48:15-06:00March 4th, 2022|

In 1915, Thomas’ parents Mike and Jessie started farming in Meleb, MB. They had chickens, horses, cows and grew their own grain and food. They would milk the cows by hand, use the separator to get the cream then ship it off to a creamery. The creamery would take the cream and turn into butter to sell. This is how they made part of their living. They used the cream separator for 25 years. Tom took the separator when his parents sold the farm as he could not part with it. When he saw that there was Dido’s workshop and [...]

Some examples are individual recreation programs such as music, art, exercise, reading, and puzzles; connecting residents and families through virtual visits; and providing spiritual support and friendly visits in rooms. iPads are used to engage residents through [...]
