Dear Residents and Families, Holy Family Home learned late today of a resident testing positive at the Home.  This news is unsettling and concerning to share with all of you.  We have immediately worked to ensure risks are minimized to keep residents, staff and families safe.  The families of the unit impacted have been contacted by phone earlier this evening.  The Home has begun the implementation of all of the COVID-19 protocols. Holy Family Home is known for being a long-term care facility however it is much more.  It is a place that also cares for and reaches out to the community.  One such program is the Adult Day Program.  This program is a venue for seniors who live in the community to visit Holy Family for a day of socializing, to participate in recreational activities and exercises, and to review and discuss currents affairs for the purpose of stimulating their physical and mental well-being. Attention: Winnipeg Long Term Care Facility family/ support persons Personal Care Homes (PCHs) within the Winnipeg Metropolitan Area are being elevated to RED (CRITICAL) in the Province’s Pandemic Response System. This does NOT mean that there have been any additional outbreaks within Winnipeg PCHs that have not been shared publicly. Dear Residents and Families, The “Orange – Restricted Status” for the City of Winnipeg continues as announced by Dr. Roussin on September 25, 2020. The provincial and Shared Health guidelines have been implemented at Holy Family Home restricting visitation to only the two identified Designated Caregivers visiting one at a time. Compassionate Healers Mass at Holy Family Home

The Compassionate Healers' Mass was sponsored by the Archdiocese of St. Boniface, the Archdiocese of Winnipeg, the Archeparchy of Winnipeg and Catholic Health Association of Manitoba. It was a time to gather, celebrate, and commission those involved in the healing ministry. A special blessing was extended to all involved with health care at the end of the mass. Winnipeg Metropolitan Region escalated to Pandemic Response System Level Orange (Restricted)

September 26, 2020 Dear Residents and Families, On Friday, September 25, 2020, Dr. Roussin escalated the status of Winnipeg to “Orange” or Restricted under the Manitoba Pandemic Response Plan effective Monday, September 28, 2020 at midnight for the next 4 weeks.
