Covid Update

2021-08-03T09:35:12-05:00July 30th, 2021|

Dear Families, We are reminding designated family caregivers and visitors that wearing masks (fully covering nose and mouth) is mandatory at all times both inside the Home and in the outdoor areas.  This is in accordance with public health orders and is regardless of vaccine status.  The vaccine is the best tool we have in the prevention of COVID-19 but it is not 100% effective.  The mask requirement will remain in effect until the province gives further direction.  There should also be no food or drink consumed by any visitors in the resident’s rooms. Thank you for your continued support [...]

Thanks to the generous Festival of Lights donation campaign, special recreation events for our residents are taking place in the park throughout July, August and September. The first events were “Tiki Parties” held on July 6 & 7. Four separate parties were held so that residents from all units could attend while keeping in practice with social distancing and group size guidelines. Residents danced to tropical party music, did the limbo and enjoyed colourful slushies in the brightly decorated park. The slushy machine rental, decorations and props were provided by the Festival of Lights Funding. Thank you to our Festival [...]

Covid Update

2021-06-08T13:27:55-05:00June 8th, 2021|

Dear Families, We are saddened to share the passing of a resident who had COVID-19 in November 2020.  We send our sincere condolences and thoughts to the family during this difficult time.  There have been some questions raised as to why communications continue to be shared regarding the passing of residents who have departed after having been positive with COVID-19.  We are required to report any passing of residents who had been positive with COVID-19 to Manitoba Health and WRHA Public Health.  Very few exceptions would classify the passing of a previously COVID-19 positive as not reportable to public health.  [...]
