Dear Families, We are reminding designated family caregivers and visitors that wearing masks (fully covering nose and mouth) is mandatory at all times both inside the Home and in the outdoor areas. This is in accordance with public health orders and is regardless of vaccine status. The vaccine is the best tool we have in the prevention of COVID-19 but it is not 100% effective. The mask requirement will remain in effect until the province gives further direction. There should also be no food or drink consumed by any visitors in the resident’s rooms. Thanks to the generous Festival of Lights donation campaign, special recreation events for our residents are taking place in the park throughout July, August and September. The first events were “Tiki Parties” held on July 6 & 7. Four separate parties were held so that residents from all units could attend while keeping in practice with social distancing and group size guidelines. Residents danced to tropical party music, did the limbo and enjoyed colourful slushies in the brightly decorated park. If you are a resident, family member or visitor to Holy Family Home, you probably have noticed the beautiful flowers adorning planters in the park, courtyard, atrium deck and unit balconies. These flowers were all generously donated by Sumka Brothers Greenhouses. The flowers were planted by our residents and staff, and create colourful outdoor atmospheres for all to enjoy.
