Dec. 30, 2022 Dear Families, I wanted to share with everyone that we do have 2 residents on the St. Mary’s unit who have tested positive for COVID 19. With guidance from the regional Infection Prevention and Control as well as our medical director Dr. T Babick we are now official in a COVID outbreak on 2C St. Mary’s/St. Francis unit. The below strategies are being implemented: -  all off unit activities/events are cancelled for these residents,-  recreation activities are to move to more 1:1 activities,-  residents who are symptomatic are isolated to their rooms-  all family visitation needs to occur on the [...]

DECEMBER CELEBRATION

The month of December is rich in celebration. Holy Family Home was blessed to welcome young children from Holy Ghost School who performed a beautiful Christmas concert for residents and staff on the feast of St. Nicholas, December 6. St. Nicholas – who attended and enjoyed the concert! – also visited our residents at their unit Christmas parties. St. Nicholas is a great example of expressing love and mercy for others. Dec. 8, 2022 Dear families, This week we have one additional resident on 4C St. Martha’s/ St. Basil’s unit who has tested positive for influenza A. After consultation with regional infection prevention and control and out medical director Dr. T Babick we have declared an outbreak on the 4C St. Martha’s/St. Basil’s unit. All residents who have tested positive for influenza A are isolated in their rooms while they are symptomatic. Nursing continues to monitor all residents for development of symptoms. On November our recreation team brought treats for every resident at Holy Family Home - donuts and coffee, generously donated by our friends @TimHortons!  Every resident has memories of enjoying coffee and a donut with people that they loved and cared for. They shared laughter and tears, and celebrated important moments of their lives… As kids or parents, having a family treat. As teenagers, out with friends. As a welcome break at work. November 22, 2022 Dear Residents and Families: We are very pleased to inform you the remaining COVID-19 outbreak on 3A – St. Anne’s is now resolved.       Visitation has returned to two Designated Family Caregivers or general visitors at a time.  Visiting hours are 10am to 8pm seven days per week.  Proof of vaccination continues to be required. November 20, 2022 Dear Residents and Families: Please see the update of our current COVID-19 and outbreak status in the Home: 2C St. Mary’s / St. Francis’ outbreak has been declared resolved as of November 19, 2022.3A St. Anne’s has seventeen residents test positive for COVID-19 and an outbreak has been declared.  The resolution date is anticipated in the next several days.     Families of residents with infections have all been contacted by phone.   All remaining residents will be closely monitored for symptoms but will only be tested if symptomatic.  Designated caregivers can continue to visit all their [...]
