Dear Families,

As you may be aware on May 3, 2023 Shared Health announced that masking requirements across Manitoba’s health-care system would be lifted in long-term on May 10, 2023. Per Shared Health “The changes in masking requirements are based on advice given by infection prevention and control experts and reflect the changes we’ve seen with virus transmission in our province over the past year,” said Monika Warren, Shared Health’s COO of provincially coordinated health services and its chief nursing officer. “Care settings across the province will continue to be mask-friendly. Masks will be available to those who wish to wear them.”

So on May 10, 2023, Holy Family Home will be adapting to a mask friendly environment, which will ensure staff, visitors, and residents have access to masks within the facility. Listed below are the expectations of our home going mask friendly:

  1. Masks will be available on the resident care unit, at the staff entrance and the main entrance to the facility
  2. All individuals in the site are encouraged to continue to wear a mask, but it is no longer mandatory to wear a mask
  3. If a resident care unit goes into official outbreak as per Regional Infection Prevention and Control, all staff, visitors, and volunteers will be expected to wear a mask and eye shield at all times while in the facility
  4. If a resident or family member is requesting staff to wear a mask while providing resident care please connect with the unit nurse or Resident Care Manager to discuss the plan

If you should have any questions please reach out to the unit nurse, social worker, resident care manager or myself.

Thanks,

Stacey Morgan RNBN

Director of Care
