Upcoming changes

At Holy Family Home, we are committed to providing the highest quality care and ensuring that residents have access to the equipment they need for comfort, safety, and mobility.

We want to inform you of upcoming changes in the costs of certain essential equipment, including Wheelchairs, ROHO cushions, and resident Sabina slings. Due to increases in supplier pricing, the cost of purchasing and maintaining these items has risen significantly across the healthcare sector. While we continue to explore every option to minimize the impact on residents and families, these changes mean that there may be adjustments to the fees associated with rental and new equipment purchases or replacements.

Please know that:

• We will always recommend equipment based on individual needs and clinical assessments.

• We will provide clear cost estimates before any purchase or replacement.

• We will assist in exploring funding options, such as provincial programs or insurance coverage, where applicable.

The monthly fee changes are set to start July 1, 2026:

• Wheelchairs/Broda Chairs/Tilt Chairs including a ROHO or foam cushion = $60 monthly

• ROHO cushion only = $15 monthly (if you do not rent a wheelchair from Holy Family)

• New starting April 1, 2026

• Rental Sabina Lift slings assigned per resident will be charged at $20 per month

Sabina sling fees are a new initiative to ensure resident safety for correct sizing, accessibility and preventing resident infections. The fees will begin following annual physiotherapy assessments when a Sabina Lift is determined to be appropriate for your loved one. This will mean each resident who currently needs to use a Sabina lift for transfer will be assessed for his or her own personal rental sling.

Holy Family Home will continue to ensure that every resident has the right equipment to support their health, dignity, and quality of life.
