Dear families,

I wanted to share with everyone that regional infection prevention and control and our medical director did call off the COVID 19 outbreak on 4A St. Joseph’s Monday Sept. 11, 2023. I wish to thank the residents, family and staff for their dedication to preventing the spread of the virus, acting quickly and containing the virus on the unit. We had three residents test positive for COVID 19 on the 4A St. Joseph’s unit. We completed 10 full days of isolation following the last resident who exhibited symptoms. No newly symptomatic residents were identified after the 10 days of isolation were completed, therefore, the outbreak was declared over on Sep 11, 2023.

Unfortunately we do still have one resident who has tested positive on 5A St. Michael’s unit and symptomatic residents both on 4C St. Basil’s/St. Martha’s and 3C St. John’s/St. Paul’s units. At this point we do not have outbreaks on these units, but we have initiated some pre-outbreak measures at this time. The measures we have initiated are:

  1. Residents are not to leave the unit for off unit activities. They can continue to have activities on their own units
  2. Physical distancing during meal times as able
  3. Active Case finding
  4. Families are to visit with residents on the unit or outside the facility (courtyard and park are permitted)
  5. Staff and visitors are encouraged to wear masks
  6. Increased high touch surface cleaning
  7. Increased hand washing

Thank you for your help in keeping our residents safe from virus. Please wash your hands and do not visit if you are exhibiting any respiratory symptoms.

Sincerely,

Stacey Morgan RNBN

Director of Care
