July 7, 2023

Dear families,

Welcome to summer! As we are now finishing the first weeks of summer with all the nice weather we had in June and now in July I thought I would put out a little task for our residents. With having more programming outside in the park and the sun being so bright and hot if you can bring a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen for your loved one if they do not have one already. This will make their experience outside much more enjoyable.

The summer programming calendar for July has been posted throughout the home, but if you have not seen it yet, I have included the recreation events calendar for July 2023 for your reference. I wanted to let you know that family is welcome to join the activities in the park or inside the building as long as capacity allows for it. Please connect with the recreation facilitator on your loved ones’ unit if you have questions.

On a different note, we did have some personnel changes in our social work department. Regina Santos is no longer with the home as she moved on to a more permanent position. We do wish her well. As we await Diana Steski’s full return from maternity leave in September we will have the following coverage for the units:

Michaela Cardamone (extension 212) covering – 1C, 2A, 4A and 5A

Shari Mintac (extension 249) covering – 3A, 3C, 2C and 4C

PS – Diana Steski has agreed to help at Holy Family Home 2 days per week over some weeks this summer so do not be surprised if you hear her calling you. Once she returns to her full-time capacity, we will send out a notification about unit assignment changes.

Also, the Resident Care Managers continue to be available to help support care and communication. Please connect with them if you are needing assistance with your loved ones that nursing or social work is not able to address. Here are the managers names and extensions for your reference.

Gayle Dyck (extension 336) covers 3A, 4A, 3C

Janice Wait (extension 629) covers 1C, 5A, 4CN St. Basil’s

Raj Mongru (extension 326) covers 2C, 2A, 4CS St. Martha’s.

Wishing you all a wonderful summer filled with sunshine, relaxation and precious times spent with those you love.

Stacey Morgan RNBN
