Help us Light up Holy Family Home!
This year, our lives were turned upside down, the future has never felt so unpredictable. Yet many stories of heroes and moments of blessings have been shared as frontline workers give their all to safely care for our most vulnerable population.
Those living at Holy Family Home have undeniably felt the impact of restrictions, especially around socialization with groups and visitations with loved ones. To help bring comfort and a sense of familiarity during this difficult time, the care team introduced ways to provide important connections for residents with their loved ones. Conversations now take place through the use of technology; however, but it still does not replace the comfort of person-to-person communication and activities.
Residents share with us that connecting is so important to them. A year ago, Olga moved to Holy Family after living in two other care homes. At the age of 102, she now feels that she truly is at home. While interviewing Olga on her cell phone, she emphasized how she enjoys every day because of the various programs. She has even discovered a passion for art she never knew she had. Baking pumpkin pie cookies this fall and participating in outdoor concerts in the new park this past summer brought much joy and delight to her heart. Olga is so thankful to have these person-to-person connections with the care team and residents as their external visitations are limited.
The Holy Family Home staff have been flexible this past year taking on additional responsibilities that are needed for the safe quality care of our residents. However, to balance existing programs with one on one socialization and virtual visits, keeping groups together of under 10 people requires additional help.
Now more than ever our community needs each other and we need you. We invite you to make a gift to the Festival of Lights Campaign. Funds raised will directly enhance the quality of life for our residents. Your donation will provide increased therapeutic recreation and rehabilitation services in the form of exercise programs that focus on the resident to experience a strengthening of their body, mind and soul. You will enable Holy Family Home to hire additional staff and equipment to have more resources available for our residents to help reduce the sense of isolation.
Your gift will also help light up the Holy Family Home campus. For each $2,500 raised, more lights will shine for our residents to enjoy. If you travel past the Home this Christmas season, you too will be able to experience the Festival of Lights.
