Dear Family Members,

As Holy Week approaches and the Lenten Season is transitioning into the beautiful Season of Resurrection, we reflect on how Holy Family celebrates this sacred time.

Over this last year of the pandemic, streaming Divine Liturgies happened every Sunday and Wednesday mornings on resident units. On February 11, 2021, World Day of the Sick, Holy Water was distributed and available to residents and staff.

During Lent, the chapel has finally become available for small groups. Adhering to public health requirements, many happy residents experienced Stations of the Cross. The week before Holy Week, residents had the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Confession in the chapel. Recreation staff and residents baked paska on the units to enhance the fragrance of Easter being on the horizon.

Palm Sunday, residents received blessed pussy willows on their units, as Spiritual Care processed through the Home with palms held high.

Good Friday will see a procession of the Holy Shroud throughout the Home, enabling residents to have an opportunity for prayerful veneration of the Holy Shroud. Holy Saturday, traditional Easter Food including boiled eggs, baked ham, kobasa, beets with horseradish, homemade cheese and paska will be blessed. Easter Sunday morning, Staff and Sisters will process throughout the Home ringing bells and singing Christ is Risen/Xpuctoc Bockpec, while residents enjoy their Easter Sunday Breakfast. Easter menu continues throughout Easter Sunday.

Thank you all for being supportive the mission of Holy Family in a variety of ways. May the Risen Christ provide much joy and gentle healing we journey on through these historic times. On behalf of Holy Family Home and the Sisters, we wish you and yours a blessed Easter and all the best for good health and happiness.

Xpuctoc Bockpec! Khrystos Voskres! Christ is Risen!
