Dear Families,

We regret to inform you that there were 4 more residents test positive for COVID-19 yesterday and today, as well as 4 more staff members identified since last evening.  We have contacted all of the families from the impacted floors. Contact tracing is actively underway and we are working with WRHA and public health.

For the family members of the residents currently on the COVID unit, we are working on a plan to facilitate communication with the residents both in terms of updates and directly with the residents.  We will be in touch as soon as possible.  In the interim, please contact your social worker for information.  We are doing our best to manage all of the needs.   The staff on the COVID unit are working to provide the best care to your loved ones.

At present, we have had 31 resident cases (22 active residents on our COVID Units, 3 in hospital, 5 recovered and one resident passed away).  We have had 12 staff test positive and four have recovered.  Our thoughts and prayers are with both these residents and staff for their recovery.

We have been able to maintain our staffing and continue to recruit staff to join our team at Holy Family Home.

We are in touch with the WRHA LTC program daily and are following all the direction and guidance received from public health.  We will contact you directly should there be any issue with your loved one.

Please keep Holy Family Home in your thoughts and your prayers.

Sincerely,

Tara-Lee Procter (Maciuszonek) – CEO
