Dear Holy Family Home Families and Residents

Today we learned that one (1) resident from 5A (St. Michael’s) tested positive for COVID-19 so with an abundance of caution we are suspending all visits (including Designated Visitors) immediately with the exception for end of life visits.

This is a very difficult decision but due to the risk of infection of the omicron variant, protecting our residents, families and staff is our priority. We thank you for your patience, understanding and cooperation. We will review visitation in two weeks and advise if there will be any further changes.

Holy Family Home has also become aware of seven (7) employees who have tested positive for COVID-19. It appears that all of the staff cases have been due to community or household contacts

In consultation with WRHA Infection Prevention and Control team and our medical director Dr. Terry Babick, all pandemic precautions and protocols have been implemented at this time.

If you should have any questions about your loved one, please call the nursing staff on the unit or social work.

Updates will be provided on our website as the situation evolves.

Please keep Holy Family Home in your thoughts and prayers.

With regards,

Angela Peeler
