November 15, 2021
Dear Residents and Families,
With the rising positivity rate for COVID-19 in Manitoba, we all need to maintain our diligence to protect our residents, families, and staff. As per the last communication, effective November 15, 2021, all Designated Family Caregivers will be required to show proof of full vaccination to visit in the resident’s room. Shared Health and public health have also made this mandatory for all long-term care homes across the province effective today. Designated Family Caregivers, who are fully vaccinated, will need to provide proof of vaccination (vaccination card or digital QR code) and identification when being screened to enter the Home.
Designated Family Caregivers who are not fully vaccinated for COVID-19 can book visitation in the indoor visitation rooms by calling Janice Buors at 204 589 7381 extension 265.
For those residents at end of life, exceptions will be made following infection control guidelines.
Recently, there has been an increase of visitors not remaining in the resident’s room for visitation. In accordance with the Shared Health guidelines, visits are to be in the resident’s room only. Visits are not to occur in the dining areas, lounges or elsewhere in the Home. Those visitors who are not following these protocols may not be permitted to visit in the resident’s room. Please also note, masks must be worn at all times (covering nose and mouth) and visitors are not to eat while visiting.
Please refer to the following Shared Health document explaining why long-term care guidelines are different from those in the general public https://sharedhealthmb.ca/files/covid-19-ph-orders-faqs.pdf .
Your patience and cooperation is sincerely appreciated. Please keep Holy Family Home in your thoughts and your prayers.
Sincerely,
Tara-Lee Procter (Maciuszonek)
