We had one additional resident test positive for COVID-19 yesterday. Currently there are 2 active resident cases, no residents in hospital and sadly twenty-six residents have passed away. There have been a total of 120 residents test positive for COVID-19. Our thoughts and prayers are with these residents and their families for their ongoing recovery and improved strength.
We have had no additional staff test positive for COVID-19 today. There are 47 staff members of the 50 who have tested positive for COVID-19 recover. We look forward to the safe return of our staff and we are grateful for their recovery.
We have had a number of our staff receive their initial dose of the COVID-19 vaccination and we are informing staff as the criteria for eligibility widens. We have begun preparations at the home for when the vaccine will be available for residents and we are working with the region and the province around the roll-out of the vaccine. Information will be shared as more detail is known.
We are also continuing to plan for the opening of the indoor visitation rooms. Construction is still underway and approval to use the space is needed. Further information will be forthcoming in the near future.
We will contact you directly if there are any concerns related to your loved one.
Please keep Holy Family Home in your thoughts and your prayers.
