Dear Families,
We have had no further COVID-19 positive residents. Currently there are 93 residents recovered from the infectious period of the virus and recuperating, 3 active resident cases, no residents in hospital and sadly twenty-one residents have passed away. There have been a total of 117 residents test positive for COVID-19. We continue to send healing thoughts and prayers to these residents for their ongoing recovery and improved strength.
There were no additional staff test positive for COVID-19. We have had 43 staff members of the 47 who have tested positive for COVID-19 recover. We look forward to the safe return of our staff and to their recovery.
For those who would like to drop off gifts for residents for Christmas, please have gifts in wipeable packaging to be sanitized prior to delivery to the resident. Please also label the gift clearly with the resident’s full name to ensure it is delivered appropriately. We look forward to the joy these gifts will bring to the residents and are working with the support aides from the Red Cross to ensure items are delivered in a timely manner.
Together with the Red Cross, we will be booking virtual visits over the Christmas period to connect residents with Loved ones as much as possible. To book a virtual visit, please contact Sandra Katchnoski – Recreation Coordinator at SKatchnoski@holyfamilyhome.mb.ca.
We are working with Shared Health and the construction company to open the visitation rooms early in the New Year with hopes of having visitation available for Ukrainian Christmas. We are grateful for the many messages of kindness and support we have received from many of you. It is so very appreciated.
We will continue to provide updates throughout the holiday season and we will contact you directly should there be any issue with your loved one.
