Dear Families,

We are very sorry to share we had a resident pass away late last evening.  Our sincere condolences to the family during this very difficult time.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

We received two more positive results today bringing the total of COVID-19 positive residents to 94.    There are currently 40 residents recuperating from the virus who are no longer infectious, 40 active resident cases, 3 residents in hospital and sadly eleven residents have passed away.  Our thoughts and prayers are with these residents for their recovery and well-being.  The families from units impacted are being contacted by phone with updates.

We have had 42 staff test positive for COVID-19 and 20 have recovered. We are anticipating several more staff to be cleared to return to work once assessed by Occupational Health to approve their safe return to work.

Red Cross contacted us today and will begin assisting us with 8 support aides beginning Tuesday, December 8, 2020.  These support aides will be working 10 hour shifts 7 days a week.  The role of the support aides will be to assist with socialization, encouraging residents to eat and drink and light cleaning assistance.  We will be providing an orientation to the Home for these support aides.  We look forward to their arrival to support the residents in isolation.

We will contact you directly should there be any issue with your loved one.

Please keep Holy Family Home in your thoughts and your prayers.

Sincerely,

Tara-Lee Procter (Maciuszonek) – CEO
