Dear Families,

Today we had some good news to share with all the families. 3A St. Anne’s and St. Luke’s units are now officially off outbreak. Residents can return to regular activities on/off unit and visitation can resume to normal on/off of the resident care unit. Thank you to all the residents and families as they followed the infection control principals throughout the holiday season.

We also have two new outbreaks to declare today. 4C St. Martha’s/St. Basil’s has a common cold outbreak and 3C St. John’s/St. Paul’s has a COVID outbreak. Both these units have now implemented outbreak strategies as listed below including only allowing designated caregivers to visit on the unit.

Please see the table below for the current outbreak within the home. Just a reminder we do need to have 2 cases of the same virus on the same unit to meet the definition for a COVID outbreak.

The below strategies are implemented on all outbreak units:

  • all off unit activities/events are cancelled for these residents,
  • recreation activities are to move to more 1:1 activities,
  • residents who are symptomatic are isolated to their rooms
  • all family visitation needs to occur on the unit in the resident rooms
  • only designated caregivers are to visit – for outbreak units only
  • increased high touch surface cleaning

Please remember to let nursing know if you notice a change in your loved one during your visitation hours and do not visit if you are experiencing any respiratory of flu like symptoms.

If you do have any questions please reach out to your unit nurse, social work or resident care manager.

Thanks,

Stacey Morgan RNBN
