Dear Residents and Families:
We are very pleased to inform you the remaining outbreak on 4C St. Martha’s / St. Basil’s has been declared over in consultation with WRHA Infection Prevention and Control. The units will reopen tomorrow. There are no outbreaks currently in the Home.
Fully vaccinated designated family caregivers and general visitors can visit in the resident’s room. There can be a maximum of two visitors (designated family caregivers or general visitors) visiting at a time.
The courtyard and the park will be available for visitation for fully vaccinated designated family caregivers or general visitors. Please proceed directly to the outdoor space and back to the resident’s room. Masks and eye shields continue to be required when visiting in the outdoor spaces. Please maintain social distancing. Residents should also wear a mask if possible.
Second booster or 4th doses of the COVID-19 vaccine are being administered in the Home this week for those residents who are eligible. Residents have to have had their first booster at least 4 months ago and be COVID-19 recovered for 90 days if previously infected. Consents will be completed and doses administered this week and ongoing as more residents become eligible.
As per Shared Health, masks continue to be required in healthcare settings including personal care homes due to the vulnerability of those we care for. There have been a number of incidents recently where visitors have been verbally abusive to the screening and security staff due to the mask requirements. These guidelines are in place to assist in maintaining the safety of residents. We understand the ongoing restrictions are challenging but we ask everyone to be respectful to one another.
