Dear Families,

We regret to inform you that there have been more residents and staff test positive for COVID-19 in the last day.  We have contacted all of the families from the impacted floor. Contact tracing is actively underway and we are working with WRHA and public health.

There are 41 residents who have tested positive (6 have recovered, 3 are in hospital for other issues and there are 31 active and sadly one resident passed away).  We are hopeful that there will be more than 10 residents recovered over the next few days which is wonderful news to be grateful for.  We have now had 25 staff test positive for COVID-19 and 4 have recovered.  We are hopeful and anticipating many of these staff will be recovered in the next few days.  The care the residents are receiving in our COVID unit has been remarkable.  Our thoughts and prayers are with all of these staff and residents for their recovery.

We have been provided a leadership representative from the WRHA to provide assistance.   We have also been working closely with the WRHA and the WRHA LTC program who have been supportive and have assisted in ensuring our staffing needs are stable.

We are in touch with the WRHA LTC program daily and are following all the direction and guidance received from public health.  A WRHA leadership representative has joined our team at Holy Family Home today to provide support, advice and access further resources as needed.

We will contact you directly should there be any issue with your loved one.

Please keep Holy Family Home in your thoughts and your prayers.

Sincerely,

Tara-Lee Procter (Maciuszonek) – CEO
