Dear Families,

We regret to inform you that there were 2 more residents and 4 staff test positive for COVID19. We are contacting all of the families from the impacted floor. Contact tracing is actively underway and we are working with WRHA and public health.

For the family members of the residents currently on the COVID unit, we will have an additional staff person on the COVID unit effective tomorrow who will facilitate virtual visits with families. The staff on this unit have been dedicated to care at the bedside and supporting the residents to their recovery. Status updates will be shared with the social workers who will share this information with you. We are doing our best to manage all of the needs and the staff on the COVID unit are committed to provide the best care to your loved ones.

There was an error in yesterday’s letter that indicated there were 31 resident cases when it should have been 32. The corrected numbers for yesterday are 32 resident cases (23 active residents on our COVID Units, 3 in hospital (unrelated to COVID-19), 5 recovered and one resident passed away). The numbers for today are 34 resident cases (24 active residents, 3 in hospital (unrelated to COVID-19), 6 recovered and one resident passed away). We have had 16 staff test positive and four have recovered. Our thoughts and prayers are with both these residents and staff for their recovery.

We have been able to maintain our staffing and continue to recruit staff to join our team at Holy Family Home. We are so thankful to the staff and their dedication to the residents. We also wish to thank the families of our residents for their support, kind words and offers of assistance.

We are in touch with the WRHA LTC program daily and are following all the direction and guidance received from public health. A WRHA leadership representative has joined our team at Holy Family Home today to provide support, advice and access further resources as needed.

We will contact you directly should there be any issue with your loved one.

Please keep Holy Family Home in your thoughts and your prayers.

Sincerely,

Tara-Lee Procter (Maciuszonek) – CEO
