Keeping Busy During Covid Quarantines

Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, programs for Holy Family Home residents have been constantly changing and adapting. Even on units experiencing outbreaks, residents are still keeping busy in their rooms. We look forward to being able to gather together again soon, but in the meantime our recreation and spiritual care teams are hard at work helping keep residents stimulated and engaged on quarantined units. February 1, 2022 Dear Residents and Families: We regret to inform you we had a resident pass away who was positive with COVID-19.  Our sincere condolences and prayers to the family during this difficult time.  At present, 5A – St. Michael’s has six residents who are post the infectious period for COVID-19.  3A – St. Anne’s has five residents who are past the infectious period.  2CS – St. Francis has two residents who are past the infectious period.  4A – St. Joseph’s has nine residents who have tested positive for COVID-19 and 2A – Sacred Heart has nine residents positive [...]

January 25, 2022 Dear Residents and Families: We are very sorry to share the passing of one of our residents who was positive for COVID-19.  Our sincere condolences to the family during this difficult time. January 24, 2022 Dear Residents and Families: Over the weekend, there were two additional residents test positive for COVID-19, one resident on 4A – St. Joseph’s and 1 resident on 2A – Sacred Heart.   There have been sixteen residents test positive for COVID-19 in the Home with 5 having completed the period of contagion.  Currently there are 4 active cases and 3 no longer infectious on 5A - St, Michael’s, 3 active cases and 2 no longer infectious on 3A - St. Anne’s and 2 active cases on 2CS – St. Francis. January 21, 2022 Dear Residents and Families: There have been fourteen residents test positive for COVID-19 in the Home.  Currently there are 4 active cases and 3 no longer infectious on 5A - St, Michael’s, 3 active cases and 2 no longer infectious on 3A - St. Anne’s and 2 active cases on 2CS – St. Francis. Residents generally have presented with mild symptoms.  All residents within the Home are being closely monitored for any signs and symptoms.  We continue to work closely with WRHA Infection Prevention and Control. January 17, 2022 Dear Residents and Families: There have been seven residents test positive on 5A St. Michael’s with three no longer in their period of being infectious.  3A - St. Anne’s has had two residents positive for COVID-19 who are continuing to be monitored. 2CS – St. Francis had one resident test positive on the weekend. Dear Residents and Families: Beginning January 13, 2022, we will be allowing fully vaccinated designated family caregivers to again visit their resident in their room with the following parameters: The unit is not currently experiencing a COVID-19 outbreak or other outbreak.Each resident may have one fully-vaccinated designated family caregiver visit per day (there will be no exceptions).Visits are to occur in the resident’s rooms only.Masks (fully covering the nose and mouth) and eye shields must be worn at all times.Physical distance of 6 feet should be maintained as much as possible. No food or drink will be permitted while visiting.If designated [...]

Dear Residents and Families: A COVID-19 outbreak has been called on 3A – St. Anne’s.
