Dear Residents and Families, It is with heavy hearts that we inform you of the passing of one of our residents yesterday who was positive for COVID-19.  The resident passed peacefully with staff at the bedside.  Our sincere condolences to family and friends of this resident. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. We currently have three residents who have recovered from the virus, three residents being cared for in the COVID unit, and 1 in hospital for an unrelated issue. Dear Residents and Families, We received positive results on Friday for two residents from the previously impacted floor.  These residents were moved to the COVID unit yesterday. The residents from this floor remain in isolation and continue to be being monitored closely for signs and symptoms. We have had now eight residents test positive for COVID-19.  The families of the impacted residents have all been contacted and informed.  The staff who may have had contact with these residents have also been spoken to, assessed for level of risk, and advised to be screened by Occupational Health and tested as required. Dear Residents and Families, We have learned of another staff person at Holy Family who tested positive for COVID-19. This staff person did not work at Holy Family Home during the period of communicability.   Contact tracing has been completed.  All residents on all units continue to be being monitored closely for signs and symptoms. We are continuing to take the temperatures of all residents in Holy Family Home twice per day.  We continue to be closed to visitors at this time. Dear Residents and Families, Unfortunately, I regret to inform you Holy Family Home learned has received confirmation of a fifth positive resident from the affected unit.  This brings the current status to 5 positive residents. This resident was transferred to hospital for an unrelated issue. The families of the floor impacted have been contacted by phone earlier today. We will update these families as more information is received. We have implemented all of the directions from the WRHA and public health to minimize the risks and maintain safety for everyone. These residents are from the same floor as the previous resident.  This brings the current status to 4 positive residents. Dear Residents and Families, Holy Family Home learned late today of a resident testing positive at the Home.  This news is unsettling and concerning to share with all of you.  We have immediately worked to ensure risks are minimized to keep residents, staff and families safe.  The families of the unit impacted have been contacted by phone earlier this evening.  The Home has begun the implementation of all of the COVID-19 protocols. Holy Family Home – Caring for the Community

Holy Family Home is known for being a long-term care facility however it is much more.  It is a place that also cares for and reaches out to the community.  One such program is the Adult Day Program.  This program is a venue for seniors who live in the community to visit Holy Family for a day of socializing, to participate in recreational activities and exercises, and to review and discuss currents affairs for the purpose of stimulating their physical and mental well-being.
