October 12, 2023 Dear families, We would like to bring to your attention that as of yesterday, a respiratory outbreak of COVID-19 has been declared on 3A St. Anne's unit. 2C St. Mary's and St. Francis units remain in respiratory outbreak. October 11, 2023 Dear families, Today we declared a Respiratory Outbreak of COVID 19 on 3A St. Anne’s as per regional infection prevention and control and our medical director. We have 2 residents who have tested positive for COVID. We have initiated outbreak measures on the unit to prevent the spread of the virus to other residents within the unit and the home. October 4, 2023 Dear families, We did get some great news, the 3C St. John’s/St. Paul’s respiratory outbreak was officially declared over today per Regional Infection Prevention and Control and our medical Director Dr. T Babick. I wish to send out a big thank you to all the work of the residents, families and staff in following the outbreak protocols and containing the virus on the unit. The Holy Family Auxiliary are pleased to present a Ukrainian "Buds and Spuds" on Thursday, October 12. Each resident may have two guests attend. Tickets ($15 each) can be purchased at Reception BEFORE October 5 (cut-off for the kitchen to plan accordingly, thanks for understanding). It will be a terrific time with draws, live music, a tasty meal and a terrific time to spend together.

Dear families, I am sorry to have to share with everyone that on September 22 we declared a Respiratory Outbreak of Parainfluenza Virus on 3C St. John’s/St. Paul’s unit as per regional infection prevention and control and our medical director. As of today, we have four residents exhibiting respiratory symptoms on the unit. Dear Families, Election Day is quickly approaching and I just wanted to let everyone know about a few things: Election Day is October 3, 2023. The lecture room will be set up as the polling station at Holy Family Nursing Home 165 Aberdeen Ave., 8Am to 8PM. Election cards will be on the resident care units and pinned on each of the corkboards in the resident rooms. Re: Complimentary oral health screenings for residents in long-term care through the Home Dental Care Program Dear families: The University of Manitoba’s Centre for Community Oral Health (CCOH) is pleased to offer eligible individuals living in long-term care a complimentary oral health assessment through the Home Dental Care Program. Thanks to a generous donation from Green Shields Canada, CCOH will be able to expand access to oral health care for residents living in long-term care facilities.
