In 1915, Thomas’ parents Mike and Jessie started farming in Meleb, MB. They had chickens, horses, cows and grew their own grain and food. They would milk the cows by hand, use the separator to get the cream then ship it off to a creamery. The creamery would take the cream and turn into butter to sell. March 3, 2022 Dear Residents and Families: Re: Short Absences from the Home: Residents having short absences from the Home for non-essential reasons continues to be discouraged. If you would like to request a short absence for a resident, please contact the Resident Care Manager or Social Worker for your resident’s unit for approval.  Requests must be made 24 hours in advance Monday-Friday during business hours. Independent Contact Position – FOOT CARE NURSE Holy Family Home is seeking the help of a Foot Care Nurse to provide regular services for residents who are assessed as needing such care. The Foot Care Nurse shall be certified and provide services in accordance with Foot Care Standards based on MALPN and CRNM. Give for Good – Supporting our Neighbours

In times like this, we’re reminded of how interconnected we all are. This February, Holy Family wishes to “Give for Good” and we invite you to join our efforts in supporting our neighbours, the North Point Douglas Women’s Centre. North Point Douglas Women’s Centre offers programming and resources for all women identified people. In 2021, their drop-in program was visited over 10,000 times! The drop-in offers food supports, hygiene items, menstrual products, baby supplies and more. Food supports alone were accessed over 11,000 times! February 17, 2022 Dear Residents and Families: We are very pleased to inform you our COVID-19 outbreak at Holy Family Home has been declared over.  There are presently no active resident cases in the Home and units will no longer be in quarantine.  All infection prevention and controls protocols will need to be continued as per Shared Health and WRHA direction.
